The Philosophy Behind the Practice
It Takes a Village
To see someone through the ebbs and flows of life — all its joy and heartbreak, and all that floats between — no single person can or should hold that alone.
Rooted in the West African proverb Ora na azu nwa — "it takes the community to raise a child" —
found across many cultures, languages and traditions.

"It takes a village to see someone through life — all its joy and heartbreak, and all that floats between."
Time for U · Adapted from a proverb rooted in West African traditionWhat This Means For This Practice
One person cannot be everything.
The work knows this.
I have always believed that no single practitioner — however skilled, however present, however committed — can or should be everything to everyone at every stage of a life. To believe otherwise is not ambition. It is ego.
The work at Time for U is one-to-one. Deeply personal. Skilled and purposeful. And it is part of something larger. Part of a deliberate belief that real support for human lives — through all the seasons those lives contain — requires a village. A network of people who each bring what they are best equipped to bring, and who trust each other enough to pass the baton clearly, honestly, without ego.
Sheona deliberately limits her personal client intake. Not because of capacity — because of conviction. Genuine presence cannot be distributed indefinitely. The work starts with the person. Always.
The Three Pillars of the Village
The Work We Do Together
The one-to-one coaching and mentoring engagement — purposeful, confidential, built entirely around the individual. Where clarity is found, decisions are made, and lives begin to be built with intention. This is the heartland of Time for U.
The Village We Point Toward
When what someone needs goes beyond what coaching and mentoring can offer — a therapist, a counsellor, a psychiatrist, a specialist — Sheona will name that clearly and help find the right person. Not as a limitation. As part of the care. The village includes BACP-accredited and UKCP-registered practitioners, and a curated network of trusted collaborators.
The Community We Are Building
The longer vision of Time for U is not a larger practice. It is a purposeful ecosystem — a curated network of practitioners, collaborators and partners who together can see people through. A village, built with intention. The Partners & Collaborators section of Resources is where that network lives and grows.
"No one person holds all the answers. The village holds them — together."
Time for UA Belief in Language
common + unity · that which is shared, held in common, united
The word community comes from the Latin communis — meaning held in common, shared by all. The observation that community is built from common unity is not a slogan. It is what the word has always meant.
At Time for U, this is the conviction behind everything. When one person moves forward with clarity and intention, the effect does not stay contained. It travels — into their relationships, their families, the teams they lead, the communities they are part of.
Common unity builds community.
It is the oldest truth in the word.
Etymology: community from Old French communaute, from Latin communitas — from communis (common, shared by all) + -itas (the state of being). The deeper root: com- (together) + munus (gift, duty) — community as the act of giving among each other.

The Ripple Effect
When you rise — they rise.
One person moving forward with clarity does not only change their own life. The ripple moves outward. This is not metaphor. It is what happens in practice — in rooms, in families, in organisations, in communities.
The Individual
Finds clarity. Moves forward with intention. Stops performing their life and starts building it. The first ripple begins here — in one person, in one room, in one conversation.
Their Relationships
A person who knows what they want and why brings that clarity into every relationship they hold — partner, parent, colleague, friend. The ripple moves into the people closest to them.
Their Organisation
A leader who understands themselves leads differently. A team that feels genuinely seen performs differently. The culture an organisation is capable of being changes when the people inside it change.
Their Community
The ripple does not stop at the organisation. A person living with purpose, clarity and intentionality contributes differently to the world around them. This is what community is built from. Common unity — held by many, not just one.
Intentional Relationships — IMR
The village principle
applied to connection.
The most important relationships in a life are not separate from this philosophy — they are its expression. Intentional Mindful Relationships brings the same purposeful depth of the Purpose Finder to connection itself — built on values, intention and genuine compatibility, as well as algorithms and appearances.
Because the village is not built from transactions. It is built from relationships entered into with intention. Each one a thread. Together, a community.
Common unity builds community. Intentional connection is where it begins.
The IMR Ripple
A relationship entered into with intention — built on values, genuine compatibility, and the willingness to grow together — doesn't only change two lives.
It changes the families around it. The friendships within it. The community it is part of.
This is why IMR belongs in the village. Not as a separate offering — as its natural extension.
When you rise — they rise. We all rise.
The Conviction Behind the Practice
A village, built with intention.
Time for U is not a large practice. It is a precise one. One-to-one. Personal. Purposeful. With a clear boundary around what it does and what it points toward when what is needed lies beyond it.
But the vision is larger. A curated network of skilled, trusted practitioners and collaborators. A community built from common unity. A ripple that begins in one room, with one person, and travels further than either of us can see from here.
When you rise — they rise. We all rise.
Time for U is not therapy, counselling, or psychotherapy.
